BPR - Back Pressure Regulator (Back Pressure / Economizer)

Intended as a back pressure regulator for economizer applications or as a diaphragm-type pressure limiting device on cryogenic liquid cylinders and systems. The regulator senses pressure at the inlet and opens when inlet pressure exceeds setpoint.

Suitable for cryogenic applications and oxygen service, subject to proper design and media compatibility.

Maximum inlet pressure: 51.7 bar. Set pressure ranges: 1.0 to 4.5 bar, 2.7 to 12.1 bar, 6.9 to 24.1 bar and 20.7 to 41.4 bar.

Permissible operating temperature: -196 °C to +93 °C.

Back Pressure Regulator (Back Pressure / Economizer), brass/stainless steel, 1/4" NPT, maximum inlet pressure 51.7 bar.

Function: Back pressure regulator for economizer applications and pressure limiting in cryogenic systems. Opens when inlet pressure exceeds setpoint and provides high flow above setpoint.

Media: Suitable for cryogenic media and oxygen service, subject to proper design and media compatibility. Monel poppet and seat option is recommended for oxygen service.

Testing / setting: Factory preset and 100 % tested for leakage. Approximate setpoint change per full turn is 1.0, 1.7, 3.8 or 5.9 bar/turn depending on the spring range. Setpoint may vary slightly between vent-to-atmosphere and true economizer applications.

Oxygen service: Cleaned and packaged for oxygen service in accordance with CGA G-4.1 as standard.

Seals / materials: Brass/stainless steel construction with metal-to-metal seat; poppet and seat made from 303 SS or optional Monel; phosphor bronze diaphragms; Gylon seals according to the data sheet.

Permissible operating temperature: -196 °C to +93 °C.

Inlet: 1/4" NPT.

Outlet: 1/4" NPT.

Pressure ranges: Spring A 1.0 to 4.5 bar, spring B 2.7 to 12.1 bar, spring C 6.9 to 24.1 bar, spring D 20.7 to 41.4 bar.

Flow Data: Flow curves are based on actual test data up to 120 % accumulation above set pressure, with 0 bar at the outlet. For higher overpressures, set pressures not listed or applications with outlet back pressure, factory review is required.
