FNV-ML - Forged Needle Valve

Intended as a robust needle valve for manual metering and throttling in demanding gas, process and cryogenic applications.

Suitable for gases and compatible liquids with appropriate design, seal selection and media compatibility; designed for cryogenic service.

Operating pressure: vacuum to 413.7 bar, temperature dependent.

Allowable operating temperature: -196 °C to +232 °C with metal stem, -54 °C to +93 °C with PCTFE stem tip.

Product overview: Forged 316 stainless steel needle valve with integral bonnet design and spring-loaded PTFE/stainless steel wafer stem packing.

Function: Manual metering and throttling of media flows. The valve is designed for long service life, low operating torque and leak-tight operation from vacuum to maximum operating pressure.

Media: Suitable for gases and compatible liquids with appropriate material and seal compatibility; suitable for cryogenic service.

Testing / setting: 100% factory tested. Maximum allowable internal and external leakage: 0.1 cc/min at 69 bar.

Oxygen service: Optionally cleaned and packaged for oxygen service in accordance with CGA G-4.1.

Seals / packing: Spring-loaded PTFE and stainless steel wafer stem packing. Metal stem as standard, optional PCTFE soft tip.

Allowable operating temperature: Metal stem: -196 °C to +232 °C. PCTFE soft tip: -54 °C to +93 °C. At temperatures below -54 °C, the stem packing may become difficult to adjust.

Operating pressure: Vacuum to 413.7 bar. Temperature-dependent pressure ratings: 413.7 bar from -196 °C to +149 °C, 388.9 bar from +149 °C to +204 °C, 377.9 bar from +204 °C to +232 °C.

Connections: 1/4" to 1/2" NPT and 3/8" to 3/4" dual ferrule tube connection, depending on configuration.

Flow data: Maximum flow coefficients dependent on orifice size: 0.250" orifice with Cv 0.65, 0.375" orifice with Cv 1.60.
