SDC / SDCC - Self-Locking Liquid Cylinder Connector

Intended as a self-locking connection for gas use, vent and fill valves on cryogenic liquid cylinders.

Suitable for industrial and medical applications and for oxygen systems when properly selected, installed, handled and maintained for the intended service.

Maximum allowable working pressure depending on CGA connection: 34.5 bar or 207 bar.

Allowable operating temperature depending on seal material: -62 °C to +190 °C.

Self-locking liquid cylinder connector for cryogenic liquid cylinders, consisting of a CGA fitting, clutch mechanism and stainless steel locking bracket.

Function: The SDC connection is installed into the 3/8" port on the outlet valve of a liquid cylinder and provides a secured CGA outlet connection. Once installed, the system cannot be removed without rendering the CGA outlet connection unusable.

Application: For gas use, vent and fill valves on cryogenic liquid cylinders. Suitable for industrial and medical applications.

Oxygen service: Cleaned and packaged for oxygen service in accordance with CGA G-4.1 as standard.

Materials: Fitting body and clutch housing made of brass ASTM B16; spherical locking pawls made of 440 stainless steel; springs and stop washer made of 302 stainless steel; locking sleeve and retaining pins made of 304 stainless steel.

Seals: Viton, Buna-N, Neoprene, EPDM or Fluorosilicone, depending on media and operating temperature.

Allowable operating temperature: Viton: -23 °C to +190 °C; Buna-N: -40 °C to +121 °C; Neoprene: -40 °C to +148 °C; EPDM: -54 °C to +148 °C; Fluorosilicone: -62 °C to +176 °C.

Inlet: 3/8" NPT male thread; NPT connection supplied with factory-applied PTFE thread sealant tape.

Outlet: CGA-295, CGA-320, CGA-326, CGA-440, CGA-540, CGA-580, CGA-622 or CGA-624, depending on selected configuration.

Operating pressure: CGA-320, CGA-326, CGA-540 and CGA-580 up to 207 bar; CGA-295, CGA-440, CGA-622 and CGA-624 up to 34.5 bar.

Available special versions / options: SDCC with integral anti-back-flow check valve.
Nominal cracking pressure of the integral check valve: 0.07 bar.
SDC-375 as 3/8" NPT male plug up to 207 bar.

Note: The SDC connection is designed for single installation. When replaced or removed, the CGA fitting, locking bracket and clutch mechanism become unusable.
