Field of application
Intended as a quarter-turn shut-off valve for positive shut-off of flow in gas and fluid systems.
Suitable for inert gases, oxygen, oxidizer gases > 21 % and hydrogen subject to proper system design, material compatibility, seal selection and specified oxygen cleaning.
Operating pressure: depending on configuration up to 207 bar; certain brass versions with 1-1/8" square body up to 137 bar.
Allowable operating temperature: -54 °C to +190 °C, depending on seal material.
Description
Quarter-turn brass or 316 stainless steel shut-off valve with metallic plug stem, operating pressure up to 207 bar, with NPT or dual ferrule tube connections.
Function: Quarter-turn shut-off valve for positive shut-off of forward flow. The design uses a one-piece body with a machined metallic replaceable plug stem.
Media: Suitable for inert gases, oxygen, oxidizer gases > 21 % and hydrogen subject to proper system design, material compatibility, seal selection and specified oxygen cleaning.
Testing / setting: 100 % factory tested for leakage; zero internal and external leakage. Factory leakage test at 10.3 bar.
Oxygen service: Optionally cleaned and packaged for oxygen service in accordance with CGA G-4.1.
Seals: Elastomeric O-ring seal; Buna-N, FKM, neoprene or ethylene propylene depending on configuration. Larger sizes use PTFE backup rings to reduce operating torque and provide long service life.
Operating pressure: up to 207 bar for brass and stainless steel; certain brass versions with 1-1/8" square body up to 137 bar. If reverse flow occurs, differential pressure is limited to 10.3 bar.
Allowable operating temperature: -54 °C to +190 °C, depending on seal material.
Connections: 1/8" to 1/2" NPT or 1/8" to 1/2" dual ferrule tube connection; additional connection types depending on configuration.
Operation / installation: 1/4-turn handle operation; handle orientation indicates flow position. Install in the direction of flow according to the marking.
Technical features: Straight-through flow path, large orifices for high flow, low operating torque and optional downstream vent. With downstream vent option, downstream pressure is relieved to atmosphere when the valve is closed; maximum operating pressure of this option is 10.3 bar.
