Product Manufacturer: Generant
Datasheet ID: CRV-SS

Field of application

chevron-down

Intended as a safety device for protecting piping and system sections against excessive pressure, e.g. due to thermal expansion in cryogenic systems.

Suitable for air gases, oxygen service, hydrogen applications and cryogenic liquefied gases subject to correct sizing and media compatibility.

Set pressure range: 0.7 to 51.7 bar.

Permissible operating temperature: -254 °C to +200 °C, depending on seal material.

Description

Product overview: Cryogenic 316 stainless steel safety relief valve, set pressure range 0.7 to 51.7 bar, CE marking in accordance with PED 2014/68/EU Category IV, Modules B and D (standard).

Function: Direct-acting, spring-loaded safety relief valve for overpressure protection in cryogenic systems. The stainless steel version has the spring located downstream of the poppet seal and is described as hydrogen compatible.

Media: Suitable for air gases, oxygen service, hydrogen applications and cryogenic liquefied gases subject to correct sizing and media compatibility.

Factory setting / testing: Factory preset, 100% tested for leakage, crack pressure and reseat performance; set pressure secured against adjustment. Field adjustment of the relief pressure is not intended.

Oxygen service: Cleaned and packaged for oxygen service as standard in accordance with CGA G-4.1.

Seals: PCTFE, PTFE, FKM or fluorosilicone, depending on set pressure and operating temperature.

Permissible operating temperature: -254 °C to +200 °C, depending on seal material. For cryogenic media, Generant specifies a vapor barrier between the fluid and the valve inlet.

Inlet: NPT, SAE, metal-to-metal face seal or dual-ferrule tube connection, depending on configuration.

Outlet: Vent to atmosphere, deflector cap for directing exhausted gas, or sealed pipe-away connection to downstream piping, depending on configuration.

Available special versions / options: NPT, SAE, metal-to-metal face seal and dual-ferrule tube connections; multiple outlet configurations; seal materials depending on pressure and temperature range.
